[Abk. für Exabyte], Maßeinheit für Informationsmengen. Ein Exabyte entspricht 10246 Byte bzw. 1024 PByte, dies sind etwa 1,15 · 1018, d. h. über eine Trillion Byte. Stellt man sich zur Veranschaulichung vor, das jeder der sechs Milliarden Menschen auf der Erde 153 Bücher zu je 500 Seiten à 2500 Zeichen schreibt, dann umfasst der Gesamtumfang all dieser Bücher etwa ein EByte.
